Hi all,
This is my first post in the "mini" section. Our 4 year old has an OSET 16" electric trials bike which he rides all the time. He is a very confident rider at local parks and "informal" trails, and is always trying to find things to jump over.
We know that at some point he wants to race, but we live firmly in the suburbs, about as far from legal riding areas as you can get, which is part of the reason that the electric bike works so well for us.
I sure don't want to have to get one bike for races, and keep the OSET for all the training closer to home.
Would the OSET be permitted to ride in the 4-6 Horizon class? As I read through the rules, it probably isn't because of the 16" wheels, but I don't know if there is any flexibility in them.
Thanks, and I hope to see you at a race soon,
Pete
ps. if you don't know the bikes they are at osetbikes.com |

I don't know about racing the electric bike but someone on here will. If he can ride that he can ride a PW-50. No clutch, no gears just gas and go. You can get a used one pretty cheap and there's a couple months before the next race.
I have two of them that my grandkids used to ride in the yard, quieter than a lawnmower or a weedwhacker. When they were both riding in the backyard you couldn't even hear them in front of the house. _________________ Mac 4s '92 KX-500

You'll need to contact the series referee TJ Greer with the question.

No luck with the OSET. I thought the issue would be the 16" wheels, but Mr. Greer explained the need for all race bikes to be recognized by the AMA, and at this point OSET hasn't sought that approval.
Sounds like an excuse to by a PW or Mini Adventure in a year or two.
Pete
