From Australia:
2011 Suzuki RM-Z450 is here!
In exciting news for budding motocross and supercross riders, the 2011 model of the championship-winning Suzuki RM-Z450 is now available in Australia, ready to race right out of the crate.
In 2007, the RM-Z450 became the world's first mass production motocross motorcycle to feature electronic fuel injection, a ground-breaking move which has seen Suzuki lead race fields across the globe.
The RM-Z450 recently clinched the 2010 World Supercross Championship with Ryan Dungey at the helm, the American claiming the Championship in his rookie year. Dungey and his RM-Z450 are also currently leading the AMA Motorcross Championship, and his recent win on the weekend has seen him further extend his lead on the points board.
The past weekend also saw Belgian Clement Desalle claim his second victory for the year on the RM-Z450 at the Lativan round of the FIM Motocross World Championship.
Capping off a sensational weekend for the Suzuki RM-Z450 was Cody Cooper's round win at Wodonga in the Australian Motocross Championship, the first win for the Suzuki youngster.
The 449cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid cooled, DOHC, 4-valve engine features the latest cylinder head, piston, crankshaft, throttle body, cam shafts and valve springs.
Pioneered by Suzuki in the motocross category, the Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) System uses a reversed throttle movement, which directs mist away from the valve to produce more power and enhanced throttle response.
The RM-Z450's rigid, twin-spar aluminium frame is accompanied by an advanced subframe, linkage and rear swingarm, whilst the race-bred Showa suspension provides sharp handling, improved manoeuvrability and maximum traction.
This potent powerplant also features a five-speed, constant mesh transmission and impressive brakes package to produce a race-winning package.
Motocross and supercross racers of the Suzuki RM-Z450 are also eligible to register for Suzuki's Support Rider program, offering generous contingency payments on selected national and state race series.
Available for a Recommended Price of $11,590* (In Australia / $9,916.17 U.S.), the 2011 Suzuki RM-Z450 sports an aggressive look, with eye-catching graphics adorning Suzuki's traditional Champion Yellow / Black livery. _________________ Ralph Benhart - VCHSS
